There’s one thing you’re all missing. Nadal is right handed. If money were on the line he would kick a 50 yard field goal with his right foot. This means his left foot naturally has better balance. Additionally it’s the same thing with Shohei Ohtani/ Babe Ruth and the right hand pitching left hand batting. His eyes look the ball into the racket on his forehand whereas on the backhand he is clearly looking where the ball will go on contact. Pause the videos. Also his left brain is cluttered with all the minutiae of how to write, hold chopsticks, brush teeth etc. His right brain just thinks swing that racket. I played tennis as a lefty growing up and tried to copy to no avail. After wrist surgery I’ve been relearning righty lately and mirroring the style works.

My biggest challenge is mental, how to stay calm and cool and confident when other player is on a roll. I start to get rattled and miss shots that normally I can hit.

Here's another interesting statistic: in 2018, when the "professor" began assisting Djokovic with his ideas about limiting rallies to four shots, Novak won only four titles for the entire year. In all other years, it was between five to ten titles per year. And here's one more statistic for you: at present, the average rally length for the top 100 ATP players is 4.7 shots or more. I verified this myself. That's almost five shots per rally on average, not 3.3.

Hey coach, in all of your hits, at contact your hitting shoulder is behind your non-hitting shoulder, shouldn't you be more square to the net or even having the hitting shoulder aread like the pros?

    • @winningtennis4914

Hi Henry, thanks for the question. This orientation will depend on the stance. In this example, we are in a neutral stance, (feet more or less parallel to the doubles alley)… but in a semi open or open stance, you’re right! Most importantly, this is a feeling you have to experience… once you feel it, you’ve got it. Thanks for your question and watching!
